Woman charged in Wellston case

Ashley Beth Guy, 29, of Oklahoma City, OK was charged with eluding or attempting to elude the Peace Officer, first offense; driving or operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol or other intoxicating substances; and transporting intoxicating beverage or low-point beer.

According to the affidavit filed by Wellston Police Officer Cody McDonell, Guy frequently crossed over the centerline and held inconsistent speed, while driving a maroon sedan on Highway 66 and then turning onto Highway 102.

McDonell began signaling for Guy to pull over while still on Highway 66 and followed her, continuing to signal for approximately two miles, and used the car’s public address system to tell her to “stop the vehicle now” before she did so, according to the affidavit.

An opened whiskey bottle with a brownish-clear liquid inside was found within reach of the driver inside her vehicle, according to the affidavit, and McDonell chose to not perform the Standardized Field Sobriety tests due to concerns for Guy’s safety.

Guy’s bond was set at $4,000.

Her initial court appearance is scheduled for July 2, 1:30 p.m.
