Trial for one of the family members charged in the near starvation of a Meeker youth in July of 2018 has been put on the jury trial call docket for 9:30 a.m. Friday, June 4, court records show.
Both parties, the state and defense, have announced they are ready for trial, according to court records.
The trial is scheduled for 9 a.m. on June 7.
Two other members of the family also charged in the case are looking at trials in October.
Jimmy Jones, the father of the youth who is identified only as JJ, faces a charge of felony child neglect. He was slated for the jury trial docket that ran for two weeks beginning last Oct. 21.
However, Lincoln County District Judge Cindy Ashwood agreed to push all of that off until January and February of this year, according to court records.
That was again pushed off.
Amy Jones, identified as the youth’s stepmother, and Tyler Adkins, also face charges of child neglect.
Judge Ashwood has continued the cause to the next felony disposition docket at 9:30 a.m. on Sep. 28 and has scheduled a jury trial for Amy Jones at 9 a.m. on Oct. 18.
The judge also continued Adkins’ case for the same felony disposition docket at the same date and his jury trial is scheduled for the same time on the same date.
