Chandler man facing more charges

A Chandler resident, who already faces multiple charges in three cases filed against him within the last two months, is facing two more charges, one of them involving a dog.

A felony count of cruelty to animals was formally filed in Lincoln County District Court on May 10 against John Wesley Clark, now 49, along with a misdemeanor.

The cruelty to animals charge accuses Clark of throwing a knife and deliberately injuring a dog on May 3, this year in Lincoln County.

He is also facing an Obstructing an Officer count for allegedly resisting and refusing to cooperate with Stroud Police Officer Robert Rice after being arrested, delaying Rice in the performance of his duties on the same day.

Clark appeared before Associate District Judge Sheila Kirk on May 4 and she set a $3,000 bond. The judge scheduled an initial appearance for 1:30 p.m. June 24.

Clark also was formally charged March 19 in Lincoln County District Court with distribution of controlled dangerous substance including possession with intent to distribute, a felony.

He also was also charged with three misdemeanors including carrying weapons, public intoxication and disturbing the peace and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.

The felony count against Clark accuses him of possessing marijuana with the intent to distribute on March 12 of this year in Lincoln County.

Count 2 charges him with carrying weapons by carrying machetes and swinging them on the same date.

In Count 3, he is accused of being intoxicated at 501 E. 1st Street in Chandler in Lincoln County and in Count 4 Clark is charged with possessing a pipe used to consume controlled drugs on the same date.

Court records show Clark was charged on March 22 with public intoxication.

On March 31, he was charged with breaking and entering with unlawful intent, possession of CDS and public intoxication.
