McLoud City Council approves budget

The McLoud City Council has approved its budget for Fiscal Year 2022 and renewed the contracts for the City Manager and City Attorney for FY 22.

Council members approved both the proposed budget and adopted a resolution approving the budget as well.

The approved budget shows General Fund revenues of $1,551,000, Cemetery Care Fund revenues of $1,500 and Street and Alley Fund money of $200,000.

The total operating revenues of $1,551,000 are $278,500 less than total operating expenditures of $1,829,500.

However, the beginning fund balance of $737,530 brings the estimated ending balance at the end of the FY 22 to $459,030, figures show.

The Council adopted another resolution adding an Annual “Daily” Use pass with a fee.

“This is for people who come out a lot to Wes Watkins Lake,” City Manager Buck Day said. “They can pay an annual fee of $35 rather than have to pay each time they come to the lake.”

The council approved a one-year contract for City Manager Buck Day.

Day said it’s been a couple of years since his contract had been approved.
