Egrets

Egrets took advantage of last week’s heavy rain and went fishing in the flooded Deep Fork River bottoms along highway 18 between Meeker and Chandler. Egrets are seen standing in flash flooded pools by Highway 18. “Cattle egrets, great egrets and Blue Herons are common in Oklahoma, and, when a new water source is available, it is normal for them to be opportunistic in looking for their food,” said Micah Holmes who works for the Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation.
