The number of new cases in Pottawatomie and Lincoln Counties attributed to COVID-19 has risen by only nine, Oklahoma State Department of Health figures show.
No new deaths have occurred in either county since the last report, according to the OSDH.
The OSDH recently began reporting the breakdown of deaths and new cases on a weekly basis rather than daily. The agency has stated the reason is because of the decline in COVID-19 cases.
The agency is releasing that information on Wednesdays so the most recent numbers provided here are from June 9 since this week’s edition went to press Tuesday night, June 15.
There have been 131 deaths in Pottawatomie County attributed to COVID-19.
Lincoln County has 72 reported deaths.
The number of new positive tests in Pottawatomie County rose by 3 and in Lincoln County they increased by 6, according to figures provided by the OSDH.
Between the two counties, the number of positive tests jumped by 9 from the most recent report by the OSDH. The previous report had that number increasing by 12.
Lincoln County’s latest number is 3,258. It was 3,252 at the last report.
The number of people testing positive for the virus in Pottawatomie County now stands at 8,400. Last report it was 8,397.
The total number testing positive in the two counties now stands at 11,658.
Total number of people who have recovered in the two counties is now 11,438, the OSDH said.
In Pottawatomie County, 8,258 have recovered and 3,180 have recovered in Lincoln County.
The OSDH reported as of June 9 statewide, 453,888 people have tested positive, there have been 7,255 Oklahoma deaths. Active cases stood at 1,190.
The OSDH has stopped reporting total number of recovered statewide.
