A bail jumping charge has been filed and a bench warrant issued for a Stonewall man who failed to appear in court last month.
A formal charge of bail jumping was filed in Lincoln County District Court on June 10 against Derek Wade Sheldon, about 40.
District Judge Cindy Ashwood issued the bench warrant and ordered a $100,000 bond.
The charge accuses Sheldon of failing to appear before the District of Lincoln County on May 18 and incurring a forfeiture of bail on May 20 this year after having been admitted to bail in the sum of $50,000.
He was set to appear on May 18 for the felony disposition docket as ordered for that date on a charge of Domestic Assault and Battery by Strangulation in a case filed Sept. 28, 2018. Court records also state he failed to surrender himself to the court on May 25 this year.
