It’s almost the Fourth of July weekend, and towns across Lincoln County are having events.
Chandler will have a fireworks show at 10 p.m. at Bell Cow Lake on July 4. It will be put on by the Chandler Fire Department, and there is no cost. Note that individuals can not set off their own fireworks within Chandler city limits or at the lake.
The Friends of Silk Stocking Row in Chandler will have their 1st Annual sip and stroll from 2 to 3 p.m. on Sunday on the lawns and sidewalks of 8th and 9th Streets between Steele and Price.
A stroll for adults and children on decorated conveyances or on foot and for pets on leashes will begin at 1:50 in the courthouse drive-through and will end with complimentary frozen treats.
Traditional patriotic attire is encouraged, but organized request no political apparel.
In Stroud, they will be having a fireworks show on July 4 starting at dusk at Foster Park. There is no cost to go see the fireworks show, and the pool will have extended hours as well. Individuals can set off their own fireworks from 9 a.m. July 1 through 9 p.m. July 5.
Meeker will have Fourth of July events on July 3. Starting at 7 p.m. there will be various events that are free to attend for everyone in the community. For the kids, there will be turtle races, a face painting booth and varying other activities. There will also be multiple vendors and a karaoke machine. There will be a fireworks show once it is dark, and individuals can not set off fireworks within city limits.
On July 3 and July 4, Prague will have multiple events and a fireworks show. Starting at 9 a.m. on July 3 at the Park at the center of town, there will be a kids’ parade. Children will be able to participate in turtle races, decorating bikes and other events. There will be free watermelon, a volleyball tournament and horseshoes games.
On July 4, there will be a golf and softball tournament starting at 1 p.m. The golf tournament will be at the Prague golf course and will cost $30 per person. There will be teams of two, but if you come without a partner they will partner you up with someone who also needs a partner. The softball tournament will be at the baseball fields at the North end of the park and there is no cost.
At 5 p.m, some of the local Baptist churches will have their For God and Country Day events. There will be a quartet, hot dogs and swimming. The fireworks show will begin after dark, between 9:30 p.m. and 10 p.m. Individuals can set off their own fireworks from 10 a.m. - 10 p.m. on July 4.
Carney will not be hosting any events and all fireworks are prohibited with city limits according to town clerk and treasurer Tara Donovan.
In Davenport, they will be having events and a fireworks show at North Park. The events will begin at 5 p.m. and there is no cost to attend. There will be free hotdogs, watermelon, chips and various drinks. There will be a sack race, boot toss, bounce house and live music featuring Anne Davis starting at 6 p.m. There are no specific COVID-19 guidelines besides take caution and distance if you can. The fireworks show will begin at 9 p.m.
If individuals would like to set off their own fireworks, they can within city limits. The only prohibited space to set off individual fireworks is the park, and fireworks can be set off from 10 a.m. - 10 p.m. from June 28 - July 3. On July 4, fireworks can be set off from 10 a.m. to 12 a.m. according to Lisa Taylor, the president of the Chamber of Commerce.
In McLoud, they will not be having any July 4 events or fireworks. Individuals who would like to set off fireworks within city limits will need a permit. Individual fireworks can be set off from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on July 3 and July 4. They will be having their Blackberry Festival the following week
Wellston will not be having any events or city wide fireworks shows. Individuals can set off their own fireworks within city limits from 10 a.m. - 11 p.m. on July 3 - 5 according to interim administrator Melissa McCully.
In Agra, the city will not be holding any events or city wide fireworks shows. Individuals can set off their own fireworks within city limits from 9 a.m.-10 p.m. on June 24th - July 5th according to Carolyn Roe with Agra City Hall.
