A Meeker man is facing a first degree burglary charge following his arrest by law enforcement officers in late July.
Formal charges of first degree burglary were filed in Lincoln County District Court on July 30 against Michael Jay Stone, 32.
Stone is accused of breaking an exterior window and then climbing through the window into the dwelling house of Brittany Duggan in Lincoln County on July 23 while Duggan was present in the house with the intent to commit an assault and battery upon her.
Lincoln County Deputy Sheriff Mark Kelley, assisted by Wellston Police Chief Alf Hancock, made the arrest of Stone.
Associate District Judge Sheila Kirk set a $5,000 bond for Stone with the condition he have no contact with the victim. He made his initial appearance on Aug. 2.
Judge Kirk ordered him to reappear in court this week.
Supplemental information filed by prosecutors shows Stone has convictions on several other charges. On April 1, 2015 in Tulsa County District Court Stone was convicted of child abuse by injury, a felony, and the court imposed a sentence of nine years.
