A Stroud resident, already facing three felony counts filed against him since earlier this year, has been charged recently with two more felonies.
John Leonard Cushing II, 22, is facing a total of five felony counts.
The most recent felonies were formally filed on Aug. 13 in Lincoln County District Court. They are two charges of bringing a Controlled Dangerous Substance into jail.
On Aug. 9, Associate District Judge Sheila Kirk set a $3,000 bond. On Aug. 13, the day those charges were filed, Special Judge Emily Mueller scheduled his initial appearance for 1:30 p.m. on Sep. 2.
Count 1 accuses Cushing of bringing a quantity of methamphetamine, a CDS, and a quantity of fentanyl, a CDS, into the Lincoln County Jail on Aug. 6 without authority to do so.
The second count charges Cushing with bringing a Suboxone pill, which contains a combination of buprenorphine and naloxone, which are Controlled Dangerous Substances, into the City of Stroud Jail on the same date.
