Johnny Lee Morton

Johnny Lee Morton, 88, beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather, Brother, and Uncle passed away at his home on September 8, 2021.

Lee was born December 15, 1932 in Lincoln County, Okla., to Junia “Jule” C. and Lizzie May (Duffy) Morton. He was one of nine siblings.

Lee has always been a longtime Lincoln County resident. Lee served his country in the United States Army during the Korea War. He worked his early years in the oil fields then later began his career in the construction business as a dozer operator. Lee worked for the state for many years and retired from ODOT. Lee loved his family and loved the Lord. He along with his wife Donna (Miller) Morton were pastors at Living Waters in Meeker for 25 years.

Lee was preceded in death by his parents Junia and Lizzie Morton; and his siblings Margarite, Jack, George, JC, Ruth, Gene and Phyllis.

Survivors include his wife Donna Morton; daughter Alterra Woodard and husband Joe; daughter Denise Carder and husband Donnie; son Johnny Lee Morton II and wife Tory; daughter Amanda Berry and husband Brent; grandchildren, Randy Mitchell, Johnna Plunkett, Roxanne Guthrie, Johnny Lee Morton III, Royanna Lee Berry; great grandchildren Parker Mitchell, Chloe Mitchell, Chase Mitchell, Lawyer Plunkett, Jetta Plunkett, Brooklynn Guthrie, and Johnny Lee Morton IV; sister Margie Hixon; brother Franklin “Skip” Morton and brother in law Max Colvin; in addition to many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

A Funeral Service honoring his life will begin at 2 p.m., Monday, September 13, 2021 at Meeker Living Waters, Meeker, Okla., with Greg Berry officiating with burial to follow at Rossville Cemetery.
