The Chandler Board of Education during its meeting this week adopted a resolution calling for the annual school election.
School Supt. Melody Toma said the Office No. 2 seat will be on the ballot next year. The three-day filing period is scheduled for Monday, Dec. 6 through Wednesday, Dec. 8.
That seat is currently held by Mike Christy, Toma stated.
A Lincoln County Election Board official said on Tuesday if three or more file for a seat the primary will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 8, 2022. If just two file, the general election will be Tuesday, April 5, she said.
Toma said the College Remediation report shows that
28 students from the 2019-2020 school year entered college that year. Of that, none of the students needed remediation in Science, there were five or 17 percent who needed it in English, only two required it in Math and in Reading only one needed remediation.
She said the dropout report in the middle school was one percent and in high school .6 percent.
The board acknowledged the resignation of kindergarten teacher Suzanne Winton. Toma explained she is retiring after teaching 17 years at Chandler.
Board members approved the list of East Side library books as surplus.
They also approved several policies and policy revisions.
