Mounds scored midway through the third period to break a 28-28 tie, then iced the game with a 30-yard interception return for a touchdown in the fourth quarter and won, 42-28 Friday.
The loss was Stroud’s first in district play after four straight wins and leaves the Tigers in third place in District A-7.
Stroud goes to Wewoka this week and to Okemah the following week. The Tigers have already clinched a spot in the playoffs.
Stroud got on the board first, getting a two-yard scoring run from Zeb Blancarte to go up 6-0 in the first quarter.
Mounds went up 20-6, but Stroud tied it at 28-28 early in the third quarter .
Dylan Collins ran for an 8-yard touchdown and Amariyae Morris scored on a 23-yard pass reception, then pulled even on a 2-yard run by Kason Presley .
