The Chandler Board of Education this week approved a revised policy on “Student Transfers” to replace the “Open Transfer Policy on Transfers and Assignments.”
Board Clerk Natalie Ussrey explained this was done to come into compliance with a new state law that takes effect Jan. 1, 2022.
The board acknowledged the recent election of Office No. 2 incumbent Mike Christy. He won a new five-year term when no one opposed him.
Board members also accepted the resignation of Tara Hamilton, Paraprofessional.
They also approved the lease agreement for the 83.51 acres to the highest bidder, Jason Summers.
In other action, the board members approved the following policies:
“Student Transfers for Children of Teachers.” “Transfers for Special Education Students.” “Seizure-Safe School.” In other business, the board members: Approved a three-year lease purchase for copier machines with SumnerOne Inc.
Approved a three-year contract with Jostens Yearbook.
Approved a Fair Play Model 1993 basketball scoreboard as surplus.
Approved as surplus white football jersey numbers 1, 3, 10, 11, 15, 28, 52, 56 and 68.
