A big donation

Eagle Scout candidate Logan White poses with a large donation he made last week to the Department of Human Services in Chandler. Behind him are DHS employees Ashley Green, Amanda Taylor, Kasey Dervin, Shaunna Norton, Destenie Miramontes and Mikayla Lunsford. Dervin, who is the child protective services supervisor in Lincoln County, said Logan told her he wanted his Eagle Scout project to benefit foster children and their foster parents, so she showed him their donation locker and the kinds of things they need. He took it from there and spent several weekends getting donations. Lincoln County averages between 80 and 90 foster children per year, Dervin said, so it is a need that never goes away. Logan lives in Warwick and goes to school in Chandler. Photo/Brian Blansett
