Chandler Board of Education members during their most recent meeting rehired all of the principals for the 2022-2023 school year.
They also approved payment of a onetime stipend to certified teachers of $425 for each year of service in excess of 30 years for the 2021-2022 school year.
School Supt. Melody Toma said that Lisa Almand was rehired as East Side Principal, Bridget Hughey was rehired as Park Road principal, Geoff Metheny was rehired as Junior High principal and Randy Hedge was rehired as High School principal.
Toma explained to be eligible for the post 30 years of service stipend, the teacher must be certified, serving in a teaching capacity or as a librarian, counselor or site administrator and have accumulated by Sept. 1, 2021 more than 30 years of service.
Toma said the stipend will be paid on their May paycheck.
The board also approved payment of a one-time stipend to any staff member directly managing a diabetic student’s case on a daily basis. Amount of that stipend is $750 per case and also will be paid on their May paycheck, Toma noted.
Beginning with Fiscal Year ‘23, this assignment will be on an extra duty contract, she said.
The board agreed to add an additional 15 years to the Chandler Teacher Salary schedule beginning in FY23, she said.
A contract was approved with Gabbart Communication for School Website Content Management for FY 2022/2023, Toma stated.
Board members approved the contract for an independent auditor to perform the audit for the 2021/2022 Fiscal Year and approved the 2020/2021 audit report as presented by Ralph Osborn.
They agreed to the number of transfer students Chandler Public Schools has the capacity to accept in each grade level as of April 1, 2022.
And they voted to surplus two milk cooolers.
