The three-day filing period for county, state and federal offices opens next April 13 and continues through April 15.
Lincoln County Election Board Secretary Melissa Stambaugh and Pottawatomie County Election Board Secretary Patricia Carter said candidates for county offices file with their respective county election boards.
The Lincoln County Election Board is in the courthouse at 811 N. Manvel, Suite 15, in Chandler. The number is 405-258-1349 and the office may be contacted at lincolncounty@elections. ok.gov.
The Pottawatomie County Election Board is at 330 N. Broadway in Shawnee. The phone number is 405-273-8376 and the email is pottawatomiecounty@elections. ok.gov.
Both county election board offices will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. during the three-day filing period.
County offices up in both counties include the District 1 and 3 commissioner positions, the County Assessor and the County Treasurer. In the city of Shawnee in Pottawatomie County wards 1, 2, 5 and 6 are also up this year. Those candidates also must file at the Pottawatomie County Election Board, Carter said.
The District 23 District Attorney’s position, which includes both counties, is also up for election this year and candidates file at the State Election Board.
State legislative positions in Lincoln County to be voted on are House District 32 and Senate District 28.
Legislative positions in Pottawatomie County include House Districts 25, 26, 27 and 28. U.S. House District No. 5 will be on the ballot for those in Pottawatomie County and U.S. House District No. 3 will be on the ballot in Lincoln County.
Filing forms and packets for county and state offices, and in Pottawatomie County for Shawnee city positions, are available at the election boards, Carter and Stambaugh said.
