Meeker Elementary School had its first-ever color run Saturday as a school fund-raiser. The run drew a large crowd, with about 70 students registered and quite a few adults. Teachers and volunteers along the route tossed dry paint powder on the runners. Above left, Melissa Pyatt gives a dusting to Rylan Miller at the finish line. Top right, the winds were brisk and often turned the paint into puff balls. Above right, Meeker police offer Kyle Crow provided security and a rolling roadblock for the race. Afterward, he graciously agreed to let the runners load up his cruiser with the non-staining powder. When last seen, Officer Crow was headed for the car wash. Photos/ Brian Blansett
