Marion Calven Bales was born August 29, 1940, west of Kendrick, Okla. He died Saturday, May 7, 2022, at his home in Davenport. He was 81 years old.
Bales was a 1958 graduate of Kendrick High School. He worked for Bud Blakley until retirement.
Preceding him in death were his parents Calven and Mary (Holcomb) Bales; two sisters, Kathryn Collins and Ruth McElroy; and his son Calven Bales.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Freda (Collins) Bales of the home; two sons and daughters-in-law, Gene and Cristy Bales and Dennis and Sherry Bales, all of Davenport; his daughter and son-in-law Tamela and Keith Wunderlich of Cambridge, Kan.; 10 grandchildren; five greatgrandchildren; his sister Margaret Hoover of Chandler; and other family and friends.
A memorial service was held Tuesday, May 10, 2022, at Davenport First Baptist Church with the Rev. Mike Mitchell officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Lehman Funeral Home of Wellston.
