A hearing seeking a protective order filed against a former Carney school teacher and softball coach has been continued until next month.
The petition seeking the protective order was filed April 29 against Ricky Evans by Ashley Nicole Swindel after text messages were discovered between Evans and a girl 16 years old.
The hearing had been scheduled for Thursday, May 12 before Special Judge Emily Mueller. Court records show on that date Judge Mueller continued the hearing until 9 a.m. June 2 and that no EPO was filed.
Evans had been put on administrative leave and he resigned from his positions.
The petition alleges the incident occurred in April of this year. The petition seeks to protect the 16-year-old girl.
In early May, Carney School Supt. Brian Keith confirmed Evans was an employee of the district, teaching Middle School Science and coaching softball.
