Commissioners consider jail committee

Lincoln County commissioners this week discussed briefly the idea of establishing a committee regarding a remodel of the courthouse and expansion of the jail.

Since it was a discussion item only on the agenda, they couldn’t take any action but indicated they would look at forming a committee.

District 3 Commissioner Lee Doolen, who is also chairman of the commission, explained after the meeting, “We’re going to look and see what we can do to help the Sheriff’s Office which needs more space.”

Commissioners did approve an independent contractor agreement with Mark Hill for grant research.

They also adopted a resolution to utilize Use Tax Funds to create a new account to pay Hill for grant research, application and management.

After discussing possible purchase of a 911 Addressing Software for Emergency Management and authorizing Emergency Management to assign 911 addresses to Lincoln County residences and businesses, they took no action at this time.

They approved an annual interlocal cooperative agreement between the Lincoln County Board of Commissioners and Circuit Engineering District No. 4.

Commissioners approved an inmate telephone and video visitation service agreement and the Commissary Software, Hardware and Fulfillment contract between the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office and Prodigy Solutions.

In other business, commissioners:

Adopted a reimbursement resolution for the Election Board.

Opened six-month bids on rock, lumber and other related items and deferred action until a later date.

Approved a TASC contract for Fiscal Year 2022-2023.

Adopted donation resolutions for District 1 from CenterPoint Holdings, LLC for $6,549.26 and from Orr Construction for $5,000.

Approved the OSU Cooperative Extension Services Agreement for FY 2022-2023.

Adopted a July 1, 2022 Lincoln County Policy Resolution.

Adopted a resolution designating County Depository banks.
