Officials at North Rock Creek High School have announced that Abigail Hands is Valedictorian and Noah McMullan is the Salutatorian for the first graduating class - the Class of 2022.
Prior to the fall of 2019, NRC students left the district after eighth grade choosing which high school they would attend. Upon completion of the high school building and extending classes through the 12th grade, students can finish their education at the school where they began.
Abigail Hands, the daughter of Jeff and Krista Hands attended North Rock Creek schools for seven years. She is an Academic Letter recipient and a member of National Honor Society.
She was a member of Student Council and International Thespian Society. Abigail served as the NRC yearbook editor and participated in Business Professionals of America and Drama Club.
In addition to her academics and extracurricular activities, Abigail is active in her church, Oakcliff Church of the Nazarene. She serves on the media team and is a children’s church leader. She also volunteers in the Oakcliff Blessing Project food pantry.
After graduation, Abigail plans to attend Mid-America Nazarene University for a bachelor’s degree in mathematics education as well as theatre education to teach those subjects at the secondary level.
Noah McMullan is the son of Tim and Stacy McMullan. He has attended North Rock Creek schools for 12 years.
He is a member of National Honor Society serving as vice president of the NRC chapter. He participated in the NRC Gifted and Talented Program and is a recipient of the Academic Letter Sweater. Noah was captain of the Academic team and was named Academic All-State. He was selected to serve on the BancFirst Student Board of Directors.
He was on the varsity basketball team and served as captain. He was named North Canadian River Valley First Team All-Conference, Little City All-State nominee and received the Oklahoman All-State honorable mention.
Noah gave of his time to coach at Nike basketball camps and helped with the recycling project of the Senior Class.
He earned money mowing lawns during the summer and following graduation, Noah plans to play basketball and pursue undergraduate degrees in pre-engineering and philosophy at Oklahoma City University in Edmond. He plans to continue his education at Washington University in St. Louis to earn a master’s degree.
