Lincoln County Commissioners to hold special meeting

Lincoln County commissioners this week discussed ARPA project fund requests and they plan to hold a special meeting next week to discuss and work on them more.

District 3 Commissioner Lee Doolen, who also is commission chairman, requested the list of projects be provided digitally, adding, “Then we can find out what is needed. There are several things we really need to take care of at the county level,” Doolen noted, pointing to projects like the jail, a water line to Fowler, the Fairgrounds.

“Would like to see all of these and probably a special meeting is needed. We need to rank the projects,” he indicated.

District 2 Commissioner Marlin Miller said the current list totals about $4.78 million.

It was pointed out the list appears controllable and manageable. However, some aren’t going to qualify, it was noted. A comment was made that smart metering doesn’t necessarily qualify.

It was indicated the special meeting will be set for next Monday.

County Clerk Alicia Wagnon said that will amount to about $11,000 per month per commissioner district.
