Chandler school board

Chandler’s Board of Education this week approved hiring two new employees and also increased the price of student and adult meals.

School Supt. Scott Baade said that Angela Gonzales was hired as a paraprofessional and Christian Moody was employed as a maintenance and ground worker.

The board also approved increases to student and adult meal prices and appointments to several committees.

Baade noted the board members agreed to raise the prices by 50 cents making student lunches in grades pre-K-6th, $3 and lunches for grades 7-12 $3.25. Adult breakfast prices will be $2.50 and adult lunch prices $4.65 for the 2022-2023 school year.

Encumbrances were approved for administrators, certified contracts and support employees who have contracts starting in August of 2022.

Authorization was voted to pay the FY23 allocation of alternative education funds to the local education agency, Stroud schools, for the alternative education cooperative.

A revised extra duty schedule was approved for the 2022-2023 school year.

In other business, the board: Approved the agreement to furnish food service with Crossroads Youth and Family Services, Inc. Head Start program for the 2022-2023 school year.

A Mentor Teacher Advisory Committee was approved consisting of Cynthia Snider mentor for Madison Deeds, Pam Anderson mentor for Whitney Hermann, Shelly Mangion mentor for Madison Bowen, Lori Smithey mentor for Erin Evans, Kari Hulsey mentor for Leah Reedy, Amy Radcliffe mentor for Laura Kalka and Trish Lewis mentor for Bailee Morgan.

A textbook advisory committee was approved consisting of Bridget Hughey, Stacy Lee, Shelly Mangion, Sarah Gross, Pam Anderson and Kim Leatherwood.

A Medical Exemption Review Committee was approved. Those members include Charity Dempsey, Lisa Almand, Amy Radcliffe, Bridget Hughey, Geoff Metheny, Randy Hedge and Cynthia Snider.

Approved a Professional Development Advisory Committee consisting of Hughey, Almand, Metheny and Hedge.

Approved the Federal Programs Advisory Committee consisting of Baade, Almand, Christy Greenfield, Hughey, Kelly Robbins, Holly McBride.

Approved Christon Cummings as Title IX coordinator.

Approved several policies. Approved the list of East Side curriculum books as surplus.

Approved the list of Park Road curriculum books as surplus.
