The filing period for municipal offices in Lincoln and Pottawatomie Counties opens at 8 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 6 and continues through 5 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 8.
Lincoln County Election Board Secretary Melissa Stambaugh and Pottawatomie County Election Board Secretary Patricia Carter explained that Declaration of Candidacy forms must be completed and submitted to their respective Election Boards by no later than 5 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 8 when the filing period ends.
In Lincoln County, there are 10 municipalities that have offices at stake in the April 4, 2023 nonpartisan election, Stambaugh said.
They include: Agra: Three Trustees, four-year terms; one Trustee, unexpired two-year term; and Town Clerk, four-year term.
Carney: Two Trustees, four-year terms and two Trustees, unexpired two-year terms.
Chandler: Ward 2 Council member, four-year term; Ward 4 Council member, four-year term; and Mayor, two-year term.
Davenport: Two Trustees, four-year terms and Town Clerk, four-year term.
Meeker: Three Trustees, four-year terms and one Trustee, two-year unexpired term.
Prague: Ward 3 Council member, fouryear term; Ward 4 Council member, fouryear term; and Council member-at-large, four-year term.
Stroud: Ward 1 Council member, fouryear term; and Ward 2 Council member, four-year term.
Tryon: Three Trustees, four-year terms and one Trustee, unexpired two-year term.
Warwick: Ward 1 Trustee, four-year term; Ward 3 Trustee, four-year term; and Treasurer, four-year term.
Wellston: Two Trustees, four-year terms and one Trustee, unexpired twoyear term.
Among those offices in Pottawatomie County is McLoud, Wards 1 and 2, each four-year terms.
Both Election Board secretaries remind voters that Contests of Candidacy must be filed no later than Friday, Feb. 10 and may only be filed by another candidate for that office, unless a candidate is unopposed.
