Chandler High School’s band and choir won their sweepstakes during competitions last week.
The sweepstakes award is the equivalent of a state championship.
The band, top photo, was rated superior in its district and state competitions and became the first band in school history to win the sweepstakes.
The choir, pictured at right, earned superior ratings in concert and sightreading at OSSAA District contest with two choirs, and Superior ratings in concert and sightreading at OSSAA State contest with two choirs. Chandler choir took its mixed and treble groups to compete and received all superior ratings at each performance and sightreading.
