Laura Beanthey (Peace) Pattison went to be with Jesus on April 11, 2023. Laura, or Bennie as her family knew her, was born January 14, 1936 to Helmuth and Ethel (Arrant) Peace on the farm near Rossville, OK. She graduated from Chandler High School in 1954. Bennie married the love of her life, Jim Pattison, on January 13, 1975. Bennie was a hairdresser until she retired and they moved to Grand Lake. Bennie loved her family, she loved to garden both flowers and vegetables, and she loved to make quilts, especially t-shirt quilts. Bennie and Jim loved to travel and they were able to complete the journey to see all 50 states in retirement.
Bennie is preceded in death by her husband, Jim Pattison; father Helmuth Peace; mother Ethel Darnell; brother Helmuth Peace, Jr.; brother and sister-in-law Floyd and Minnie Peace; sister and brother-in-law Della Mae and Bob Milner. Bennie is survived by sister and brother-in-law Corene and John Johnson of Oklahoma City; brother Melvin Peace of Morrison, AZ; Stepson Glenn Pattison; Grandchildren Dustin and Joshua Schulstad and Haley Pattison; Great-Grandchildren Braydon, Aydan & Connor, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends.
A funeral service was held April 15, 2023 at Mammoth Baptist Church in Meeker, OK and interment followed in the Rossville Cemetery. The family would like to thank the staff at Brookdale Assisted Living Center and ProMedica (Heartland) Hospice Care in Shawnee, OK for their care for Bennie. Arrangements were under the directions of Lehman Funeral Home of Wellston.
