North Rock Creek has announced its valedictorian and salutatorians for the Class of 2023.
The valedictorian is Hope Hanna and the salutatorians are Emma Monge and Abigail Smith.
Hope Hanna
Hope Hanna is the daughter of Tina and Kevin Hanna. She has attended North Rock Creek Public Schools for seven years.
Her honors include Scholar of the Year, Valedictorian, Student of the Month, Oklahoma Honor Society, Urban and Rural School National Award, Varsity pom captain and pom state runner up.
Hanna is involved in Student Council, Business Professionals of America, Family, Career and Community Leaders of America, Health Occupations Students of America, varsity pom, Gifted and Talented, National Honor Society and Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
She is involved in her community as an OU Children’s Hospital volunteer and an Oklahoma House of Representatives Page. She also volunteers with veteran’s baskets, church nursery, special Olympics, community prom, charity week, trunk or treat, dance clinic and Christmas angel shopping.
Her future plans are to attend Texas Christian University while studying biology on the pre-medical track.
Emma Monge
Emma Monge is the daughter of Rolando and Kristen Monge. She has attended North Rock Creek Public Schools for 4 years.
She is an Academic Letter Sweater recipient, National Hispanic Merit Scholar, FIRST Robotics Dean’s List Finalist, Oklahoma Youth Tour winner and Oklahoma Girls State attendee. She is also a member of the Oklahoma High School Honors Society and the National Technical Honors Society.
Monge is involved in FIRST Robotics Competition, varsity pom, student council, Gordon Cooper Technology Center Pre-Engineering Academy, BancFirst Student Board of Directors, National Honor Society, First United Pillar Academy and concert piano. She additionally serves as a class officer in Pre-Engineering.
Her community involvement includes Le’go Your Lego Drive for Children’s Hospitals codirector, printing/building medical supplies during COVID, FIRST Robotics volunteer, Pottawatomie County Food Bank volunteer, STEM camps instructor/organizer and FIRST Robotics Mentor.
Monge’s future plans are to attend High Point University for an accelerated dental school program and specialize in Orthodontics. She wants to open a free dental clinic to give everyone a beautiful and painless smile.
Abigail Smith
Abigail Smith is the daughter of Amber and Shawn Smith. She has attended North Rock Public School since 9th grade.
She is an Academic Letter sweater recipient and College Board National Recognition Scholar. She has also been named various volleyball captains, most valuable player and all-tournament team. Ad ditionally, she has received a Kansas Wesleyan University volleyball scholarship.
Smith is involved in National and Oklahoma High Performance Volleyball, Oklahoma Honor Society, Fellowship of Christian Athletes Leadership Team, National Honor Society, North Rock Creek volleyball team, North Rock Creek golf team, Oklahoma Charge Volleyball Club, Gifted and Talented, and Health Occupations Students of America. She also serves as the Student Council executive Secretary.
She is involved in the Immanuel Baptist Church student ministry. She is also a Oklahoma Regional Food Bank volunteer and went on a mission trip with Hope Valley Church.
Her future plans are to play volleyball and major in biochemistry at Kansas Wesleyan University then go to Physician Assistant School to become a travel Physician Assistant.
