Chandler Board of Education members this week approved temporary appropriations for Fiscal Year 2023-2024 and approved teacher and support staff salary schedules for 2023-24.
School Supt. Scott Baade said the breakdown on temporary appropriations includes $8,013,000 for General Fund, $758,400 building fund and $408,800 Child Nutrition.
The board members also accepted the resignation of Robert Shoate, high school baseball coach and secondary teacher. Baade said a search for Shoate’s replacement is under way.
Following an executive session, board members hired Marylin Myers as part-time Secondary Choir Director, Baade said.
They also hired all the support staff and approved open transfers to the Chandler School District for 20232024.
On approving the salary schedules for the teachers and support staff, he said, “we believe in investing in our people.”
Board members also approved authorization to pay the FY24 allocation of alternative education funds to the local education agency, Stroud Schools, for the alternative education cooperative.
A Memorandum of Understanding with Stroud Public Schools Alternative Education Co-op was approved for the 2023-2024 school year.
They authorized Baade to act as the Chandler School District Director of Federal programs to sign and file all federal claims beginning July 1, 2023.
They approved the third year of a three-year lease agreement between Ross Transportation and Chandler Public Schools for the 2023-2024 school year.
They approved the agreement for representation between Chandler Public Schools and its board of education with Rosenstein, Fist and Ringold for legal services including but not limited to legal advice, consultation and representation as requested.
Approved a service contract with Oklahoma Therapy Consultants for Occupational Therapy services for the remainder of the 2023-2024 school year.
Approved a Memorandum of Understanding with Crossroads Youth and Family Services Co-Op Head Start for the 2023-2024 school year.
Approved an agreement with the Cooperative Council for Oklahoma School Administration (CCOSA) to participate in CCOSA’s District Level Services for FY24.
Agreed to a contract with Oklahoma Drug and Alcohol Testing, LLC for testing of bus drivers for the 2023-2024 school year.
Approved a bid renewal with OSIG for property and liability insurance for the 2023-2024 school year, for coverage beginning July 1, 2023.
Approved a bid proposal for workman’s compensation insurance for Chandler Public Schools for the 2023-2024 school year.
Approved the request to add “Class of 2025” to the list of subaccounts and remove “Class of 2020 and Class of 2021” in the activity fund for FY2023-2024.
Revised the policies on Student Transfers and Personal Business Leave-Regulations.
