A Chandler man has died in a single vehicle traffic collision north of Chandler on SH 18, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported.
State Trooper Nathan Battershell identified the man as Jimmy D. Pittsley, 66. The trooper said Pittsley was pronounced dead at the scene and transported to the Oklahoma Medical Examiner’s Office.
Battershell reported the collision occurred shortly after 6:30 p.m. on SH 18 near E. 870 Road, three miles north of Chandler.
He said Pittsley was driving a 2004 Ford F-150 pickup truck northbound on SH 18 when for an unknown reason it crossed the center line and the driver over-corrected. The vehicle spun sideways, the trooper reported, leaving the roadway right, then overturning, ejecting Pittsley.
Battershell said the vehicle came to rest on its top. He said the driver’s condition at the time of the collision is under investigation and listed cause of the collision as unsafe lane change.
Seatbelts were equipped but not in use, the trooper reported.
