Stroud man charged in sex case

By Mike McCormick Staff Writer A Stroud man, who is employed by the Sac and Fox Juvenile Detention Center, has been charged with a child sex-related crime following his recent arrest by Stroud police officers.

Joshua Wade Jordan, 42, was formally charged Dec. 11, 2024 in Lincoln County District with child sexual abuse material, buying, possessing, procuring.

Associate District Judge Sheila Kirk has set his bond at $30,000. He made his initial appearance on Dec. 16.

Jordan is accused of between Aug. 20, 2024 and Dec. 3, 2024 of committing the crime of possession of child sexual abuse material by possessing videos and/ or images of children under the age of 18 engaged in sexual conduct in Lincoln County.

Stroud Police Investigator Christian Martin states in a probable cause affidavit that he was assigned numerous cyber tips by the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation Internet Crimes Against Children’s Task Force.

The tips showed that the phone number associated with the phone that downloaded the files belonged to Jordan who resides in Stroud.

Martin said in the affidavit that he viewed numerous videos depicting females and males performing various sexual acts.

Martin noted that on Dec. 3, 2024, Associate District Judge Sheila Kirk signed a search warrant authorizing a search of the residence with Jordan’s street address. Stroud Police Chief Clint Gaylord and Officer Aaron Keeling and Martin later that day went to the house to serve the search warrant.

Jordan was not there, according to what Martin states in the affidavit, so Martin went to Jordan’s place of employment at the Sac and Fox Juvenile Detention Center but Stroud Dispatch informed him Jordan was at the Stroud Police Department requesting to speak with an officer since he saw officers at his residence on his doorbell camera.

Martin reports he met Jordan at the police department and in visiting with him seized his phone. Martin requested Jordan meet him at his residence.

As Martin began searching the residence, Chief Gaylord reportedly stood by in the living room while Jordan sat on the couch.

Martin states in the affidavit he seized several items and Jordan agreed to meet with the officer at the Police Department. Jordan was later arrested and transported to the Lincoln County Jail in Chandler where he was booked in by jail staff.
