Through the Sharing Success Program done in cooperation with CoBank, Canadian Valley Electric Cooperative (CVEC) donated $2,500 to the Hayne Public Library in Prague.
According to a social media post by the library, the money will go towards continuing their mission with Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library and “make a meaningful impact in our community.”
The library was one of three places that received a total of $15,000 in grants. The others were the Eufala Police Department and Strother Fire Department, according to a press release.
“These grants reflect that commitment by supporting organizations that play vital roles in public safety, education, and community well-being,” the release said.
The Sharing Success Program was launched by Co-Bank in 2012 to help build the impact of co-ops and the non-profits they help. Since it started, the program has contributed over $76 million to support non-profit organizations around the country.
“By matching CVEC’s charitable contributions, the program strengthens local communities,” the release said.
