Hearing set on manslaughter

A Meeker man facing a first degree manslaughter charge after the vehicle he was driving was involved in a fatal multiple traffic collision in Lincoln County in late August has made an initial appearance and a further hearing has been scheduled.

Michael Lee Angel Figueroa, 31, was charged in Lincoln County District Court Oct. 8 with first degree manslaughter and two counts of DUI with BAC of .08 or more— Great Bodily Injury.

A $50,000 bench warrant was issued for the arrest of Figueroa and later returned. He made an appearance before Associate District Judge Joe Dobry who has set the case for 9 a.m. on Oct. 16. On that date, Special Judge Emily Mueller scheduled a hearing for 9 a.m. Oct. 30.

Count 1, first degree manslaughter, accuses Figueroa on about Aug. 23, 2025 of causing the death of 11-month-old N.W. which occurred at U.S. 177 and U.S. 62 as the direct result of an event which happened while Figueroa was in the commission of a misdemeanor by reckless driving.

Or in the alternative on Aug. 23, 2025 of causing the death of an 11-monthold at U.S. 177 and U.S. 62 which occurred as a direct result while Figueroa was in the commission of the misdemeanor of driving while under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs.

In Count 2, Figueroa is accused of causing an accident at U.S. 177 and U.S. 62 in which a twoyear- old female suffered head and /or brain injuries
