Hughey new principal at Parkview Elementary

EMILY KALKA Editor TheStroudSchoolBoard approved the hiring of Bridget Hughey as principal of Parkview Elementary at a special meeting on May 21.

It was one of several hiring decisions that included Alesa Francis, Katelyn Miller and Heather Neal as teachers at Parkview; and JenniferYoung as a teacher at the middle school and Allen Potts as a teacher at the middle school and high school, as well as an athletic coach. They also approved the employment of Marty Robbins as maintenance staff.

Other items approved include the2026-2027school calendar and summer activities listing for May, June, July and August.

At the regular meeting on May 11, the Board spent over two hours in executive session, discussing renewal contracts for certified teachers, extra-duty contracts for athletic coaching assignments, extra-duty contracts for non-athletic assignments and the renewal of support personnel contracts.

All passed unanimously, renewing contracts for over 70 teachers and over 50 support personnel.

The Board approved a speech pathologist contract with Speech Transformation LLC for the 2026-27 school year, replacing Bryan Dervin on an account with J.P. Morris, removing James Wells from the Parkview Elementary Activity Account and a contract with Global 7 for DOT drug and alcohol testing for bus drivers and extracurricular students for the next school year.

They also renewed the school’s OSSBA membership and policy services, as well as an E-rate contract with CRW Consulting ERate Services, LLC. They additionally approved the MasterServicesAgreement andassociatedFoundations Subscription through Apptegy for $9,725.10 for the next school year.
