The fastpitch playoffs continued this week, with McLoud and North Rock Creek competing in Class 4A regionals, Chandler and Prague in Class 3A, Stroud in Class 2A and Davenport in Class A.
Most tournaments were moved to start on Tuesday of this week to avoid rain forecasted for Thursday and Friday.
Week of Sep. 21-26 Carney
For the week: 1-2. Win over Medford (13-4). Losses to Dover (6-3 and 5-2). Final record:9-15.
The Lady Bulldogs’ season came to an end on Friday with a 5-2 loss to Dover in the district tournament.
Carney took a 2-1 lead in the top of the fifth, but Dover got three in the bottom of the inning and held on for the win.
Ashtyn Stokes had two doubles and a single and knocked in a run for Carney. Gracie Hernandez had a double and Summer Keller had an RBI.
The Lady Bulldogs advanced to Saturday’s game with a 13-4 win over Medford.
Stokes swung a big stick in that one, too, getting a single, double and triple and knocking in three runs. EmmaLynn Drake was for 4-for-5, Bracelee Holmes drove in three runs and Bre Neal and Gracie Hernandez had doubles.
Chandler
For the week: 2-0 Wins over Beggs (14-0) and Kiefer (6-3). Record: 25-11.
Chandler scored six runs with two outs in the bottom of the fifth in the district win over Kiefer.
The Lady Lions had loaded the bases with no outs in the third inning, but didn’t score. The fifth inning started out the same way, with Brenlee Corea and Hope Crews walking and Halle Herrmann reaching base on a misplayed bunt.
The next two batters made outs, but Elli Hilgenfeld doubled to left field to drive in Corea and Crews.
Hadley Howell singled to drive in Herrmann and Addie Miller walked to reload the bases.
Gentry Garner unloaded the bases with a slicing triple to right, making the score 6-3.
Crews had a huge day in the win over Beggs, getting an inside-the-park home run, two singles and four RBI.
Hilgenfeld tripled and Garner had a double.
Paige Keeling went the distance in the circle, allowing just three hits.
Dale
For the week: 4-0 Wins over Tuttle (8-7), Hooker (12-0) and Mangum (102 and 14-0). Record: 33-3 The DLPs rolled into this week’s regional by winning their three district games by a total score of 36-2.
Maycee Welcher had three doubles and four RBI in the final game against Mangum on Friday. Breeze Higdon and Holland Herring had triples and Kinley Patten had a double and three RBI.
Davenport
For the week: 1-3. Wins over Calvin (16-0) and Dewar (10-0 and 11-1). Record: 21-9.
The Lady Bulldogs roared through their district.
In the final game on Thursday, they stroked 11 singles, with Gabby Murfin, Kodi Vick, Autumn Gaylord and Gracie Moore having three each. Nevah Ray had three RBI.
Moore got the pitching win, throwing five innings and giving up three hits while striking out six.
She was dominant in the first game, giving up one hit in five innings and striking out 10. She also drove in two runs, as did Ray.
Davenport run-ruled Stuart/Calvin in three innings and got to bat only twice, but that was enough for Ray to slug a triple and drive home two runs.
McLoud
For the week: 2-0. Wins over North Rock Creek (14-0) and Tecumseh (144). Record: 25-9.
The Lady Redskins took district victories over NRC and Tecumseh to finish second in District 4A-5.
Makenzie Lane had a homer, a double, two singles and five RBI against NRC Miley Hicklin had a double and got the win in the circle on a six-inning three-hitter. Adley Wilson had a double and Lyndse Rakestraw drove home three runs.
She also homered and doubled against Tecumseh and drove in five runs, giving week’s total of 9-for-10 with two homers and 10 RBI.
Wilson tripled and Avery Soward had two doubles.
North Rock Creek
For the week: 2-1. Wins over Bristow (14-0) and Tecumseh (12-9). Loss to McLoud (14-0). Record: 18-7 The Lady Cougars got district wins over Tecumseh and Bristow to lock up third place in District 4A-5.
Aspyn Harder had a career day against Bristow. She threw a five-inning shutout, giving up four hits and striking out six and blasted a home run.
Izzy O’Daniel had a double and drove in three runs.
She also slugged a homer and two singles and had four RBI in the win over Tecumseh. Ashlyn Bade had two doubles and Morgan Betram had a double, two singles and four RBI.
Prague
For the week: 3-0. Wins over Stratford (13-0), McLoud (5-4) and Lexington (13-0). Record: 24-10.
Maddie Roberts had two home runs in the win over Lexington and Halle Elmore had three RBI on a pair of singles.
Dusti Gregory and Keira Carter tripled and Ainsley Auld and Carter had doubles.
Carter got the win in the circle on a five-inning two-hitter.
Against Stratford, Gregory hit an inside-the-park home run and Jaxcyn Goodnight pitched a seven-inning threehitter. Elmore and Carter had doubled.
The Lady Devils came from behind to beat McLoud, with Goodnight giving up 13 hits, but allowing only two earned runs.
Auld had a double and a triple and Gregory and Elmore each had a double.
Stroud
For the week: 5-0. Wins over Depew (11-0), Cushing (3-1), Nowata (16-0), Wyandotte (10-1 and 11-1). Record: 1912. The Lady Tigers finished their regular season in style, winning five games and giving up only three runs.
Georgia Hulsey three-hit Cushing on Tuesday and got support from Rylie Hughey, who doubled and drove in two runs.
She and Carlee Williams combined for a two-hitter against Nowata, with Hulsey going four innings and giving up two hits and Williams pitching one inning and striking out the side.
Williams tripled and Brynleigh Bell, Carly Miller and Miyah Clark doubled.
Hulsey was back in the circle against Wayndotte, going seven innings, striking out 11 and giving up only five hits.
Wilson had a pair of doubles, Hughey had a double, single and three RBI, Clark had a double, single and three RBI and Kailee Juarez had a double.
Hughey homered and had two singles in the second game against Wyandotte.
Hulsey was in the circle again, going four innings and giving up one earned one.
Wellston
For the week: 2-3. Wins over Prude (13-8) and Schulter (18-0). Losses to Drumright (10-0) and Okarche (9-3 and 20-0). Record: 13-16.
The WLTs romped past Schulter, 180, in the district opener but Fell twice to Okarche, ending their season.
Kamber Goodman and Savanah Gaylord homered in the win over Schulter. Goodman also doubled and singled and drove in four runs. Gaylord had a triple and single and scored three times.
Autrey McConnell had a triple and single and scored three times, Audrey Fish had two doubles, Brookelyn Terrell had a double, Kirbey McConell had a double and Tinley Payne had a double and single.
