Jerry Dee Smith was born to Dee and Alta (Marquis) Smith on October 20, 1940, in Wewoka, Okla. He died Tuesday, February 18, 2020, at his home in Meeker. He was 79 years old.
Jerry retired from the Meeker Volunteer Fire Department and was a member of the Meeker Town Council serving as Mayor.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Ray Smith and one grandson.
Survivors include his wife Cheryl Smith of the home; his son and daughter-in-law, Brian and Tami Smith of Meeker; his daughter and son-in-law, Jim and Cindy Howard of Bridgeport, Neb.; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and other family and friends.
Visitation with the family is welcome from 1-6 p.m., Thursday, February 20, 2020, at the home of Jerry and Cheryl Smith in Meeker. A memorial service will be held 2 p.m., Friday, February 21, 2020, at First Baptist Church of Meeker.
