Justin Pearman, 31, of Jones is charged with knowingly receiving or concealing stolen property and removing proper license plate.
According to the affidavit filed by Lincoln County Sheriff Deputy Larry Stover Jr., Stover Jr. was dispatched to Highway 102 and Timber Lane to help a vehicle that was stuck in a ditch on Feb. 1.
When he arrived he talked to Pearman who said he ran out of gas and the battery died, according to the affidavit.
Stover Jr. ran the tag and vin number of the wrecker and discovered that the wrecker had been stolen out of Oklahoma City and was spray painted gray, according to the affidavit.
The vin number on the trailer had been scratched out and was unreadable.
Pearman filed his $5,000 bond and will be back in court Mar. 5 at 1:30 p.m. for his pre-preliminary hearing.
