Beauford Ollen Devereaux was born April 24, 1925, in Prague. He died Thursday, May 14, 2020, at the age of 95 years.
Devereaux, the son of John Lewis and Hester Devereaux, married Katheren Eggleston on June 25, 1949.
A 1942 graduate of Meeker High School, he worked in various occupations including the shipyards in California during World War II, the Bureau of Reclamation in California and construction. He also owned and operated Ollen’s Café in Meeker.
Preceding him in death were his parents and one grandchild.
Survivors include his wife; four daughters and their spouses, Lana and Earl Frazier of Chandler, Donita Cordonnier of Prague, Tonya and Ken Genn and Kip and Robert Wheeler, all of Shawnee, Okla.; nine grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren.
He is also survived by two brothers and sistersin-law, J.D. and LaVonne Devereaux of Prague and Arthur and Kayron Devereaux of Meeker; two sisters, Loyce Gouker of Campbell, Calif., and Joyce Williams and husband Leon of Chandler; and other relatives and friends.
A Celebration of Life service will be held 2 p.m., Thursday, June 25, 2020 at Family of Faith, three miles south of Meeker on Hwy. 18.
