The city of Wellston’s water main broke recently, spilling around 100,000 gallons of water on to and under the pavement next to the city hall. Without turning the water off, leaving a large majority of citizens without water, the Wellston Public Works Authority did something known as a “hot fix” which essentially means they fixed it permanently without having to shut the water off, according to city manager John Cobb. All that’s left to do is pour concrete and allow it to dry.
“It’s a constant challenge,” said Cobb in reference to keeping the town’s infrastructure in operational shape.
