Voters head to the polls beginning today for the Aug. 25 primary runoff in Lincoln and Pottawatomie Counties.
Republican voters who reside in Lincoln County Commission District No. 2 will decide between incumbent Troy Evans and challenger Marlon Miller.
That involves voters in Precincts 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13 and 20, Election Board Secretary Melissa Stambaugh said.
That is the only contest in the Aug. 25 Lincoln County runoff election.
In Pottawatomie County, Republican voters in the 5th Congressional District and State Senate District 17 will decide runoff contests.
The State Senate runoff is between incumbent Sen. Ron Sharp and former legislator Shane Jett.
The winner faces Libertarian Greg Sadler, Newalla, in the Nov. 3 General Election. The Fifth Congressional District race is between State Sen. Stephanie Bice and Terry Neese.
The winner claims the Republican nomination and will face Democratic incumbent Kendra Horn in the General Election.
Voters in the Shawnee School District will decide two school bond propositions and those in the Bethel School District have one bond proposal.
Proposition No. 1 in Shawnee is $16,925,000 for constructing, equipping, repairing and remodeling school buildings and acquiring furniture and fixtures.
Proposition No. 2 is for $1.2 million and is for purchasing transportation equipment.
Bethel’s bond proposal is $18,390,000 for constructing, equipping, repairing and remodeling school buildings and acquiring school furniture and fixtures and acquiring and improving school sites.
In-person voting begins today (Thursday, Aug. 20) at both of the County Election Boards in Chandler and in Shawnee.
Lincoln County voters may cast their in-person ballots today and Friday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. in the lobby of the Lincoln County courthouse at 811 Manvel Avenue in Chandler, Election Board Secretary Melissa Stambaugh stated.
There is no in-person voting on Saturday because there is no federal election in the county.
On Tuesday voters must go to their respective precincts.
Pottawatomie County voters may cast in-person ballots today and Friday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Pottawatomie County Election Board, 14101 Acme Road in Shawnee because they do have a federal election in the county, Election Board Secretary Jeannie Stover explained. On Tuesday voters must go to their respective precincts.
