1. Update on Meeker Lake “Quapaw 15 Project
A. Tammy Sawatzky, Oklahoma Conservation Programs Director is organizing a visual teleconference where all the powers to be will be online discussing the future plans for the lake project.
Town Administrator Dickie Walton and Tammy Sawatzky have put together this list of executives to be involved in this call. It has been too long with not enough activity getting completed.
This conference will motivate some of these people to get in high gear and get more done.
We will see how this works. I think it has already started working because surveyors are at the lake and told one of the city workers that the surveyors will be there at the lake for the next two weeks, and they were told to leave their other location and go to Meeker to expedite this surveying job.
Sounds like a pretty short grapevine to me, if you know what I mean.
B. Still waiting on the reports from Terracon about soil compaction lab reports.
2. Update on Glenncrest Park
A. I received an email that stated the PVC wrapping for the playground sets was in.
That is great news since it has been on back order three different times. Still learning about that patience thing.
B. Playground sets and swings will be put together the week of August 24 – 28. Then shipping the next week from Pennsylvania. Our excitement level is rising again.
C. A final power wash on the basketball court and then we can apply the rubberized sealer. Install goalpost and stripe the court and then it will be done.
D. The sand on the volleyball court is being spread this week and it’s borders will be closed. Yippee!!
E. More large rocks are being taken to park for parking borders and flower bed borders.
F. If you have any flower shrubs or plants that you want to get rid of, call me at City Hall.
G. Billy Wilburn, Jr. will sponsor turf to go around the basketball court outside the borders.

5. WA Update
It was a sad day to see Carl Cornett pass on. He worked at the City many years and also became an elected Town Trustee. Mr. Cornett resigned from his office due to ailing health. R.I.P. Carl Cornett.
