Six Lincoln County students receive scholarships

The Oklahoma City Community Foundation recently awarded scholarships to six Lincoln County high school graduates through the state’s largest independent scholarship program.

Carter Bailey, Gayle Blackwell, Wanda Clark, Courtney Cole, Harlee Soderstrom and McKenna Wright received a total of $10,000 in scholarships for the 2020-21 academic year.

A Prague High School graduate, Carter Bailey is a recipient of the Andersen Spraberry, a $2,000 award offered to seniors graduating from Perry and Prague high schools. Bailey will attend the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma this fall.

Prague High School graduate Gayle Blackwell received the Andersen Spraberry, a $2,000 award offered to seniors graduating from Perry and Prague high schools. Blackwell will pursue undergraduate studies at the University of Oklahoma.

Prague High School graduate, Wanda Clark is a recipient of the Andersen Spraberry, a $2,000 award offered to seniors graduating from Perry and Prague high schools. Clark plans to attend the University of Central Oklahoma this fall.

A Depew High School graduate, Courtney Cole received the Almeda Kinch Pfleeger Scholarship, a $2,000 award offered to Depew High School graduating seniors who plan to attend a college or university in Oklahoma. This fall, Cole plans to attend the University of Central Oklahoma.

Wellston High School graduate Harlee Soderstrom received the Oklahoma Youth With Promise Scholarship, a $3,000 award offered to students who were in foster care at the time of high school graduation. Soderstrom plans to attend the University of Central Oklahoma this fall.

Stroud High School graduate McKenna Wright is a recipient of the Pete & Lela Stavros Scholarship, a $1,000 award offered to Oklahoma high school graduating seniors who are related to Oklahoma State Firefighters Association members. This fall, Wright plans to attend Northeastern State University.
