Magdalene (Stewart) Dobry was born in Rossville, Okla., on November 24, 1930 to Lucien and Ella (Williams) Stewart. She passed away at her home in Stroud, Okla., on October 23, 2020 at the age of 89.
Maggie grew up in Chandler, Okla., and graduated from Chandler in 1950. She married Jimmy “Jim” Gene Dobry on June 9, 1957 in Chandler. They were married until his passing on February 18, 1986. Maggie worked for a couple places when she was younger in Chandler and then worked 23 years for her son, Joe, at his law business. Maggie was a very quiet but strong woman. She loved to cook and garden but her biggest love was her family. Maggie always took the time and energy to be there for her family no matter what it took.
Maggie is preceded in death by her husband Jim Dobry; her parents Lucien and Ella Stewart and her siblings. She is survived by her son Joe Dobry and wife Laura, her son Larry Dobry; her daughter Betty Dobry and Edith Wade; her sister Vetrice Ebers; her brother Franklin Stewart; and her grandchildren Ella M. Dobry and Cara P. Dobry
There will be a public visitation on Thursday, October 29, 2020 from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Private family services will be held. Condolences may be offered online at www.parksbrothers.net. Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Chandler.
