Veterans Day Activities

To honor the many Veterans in the area, a variety of activities have been planned to show support and appreciation.

The Chandler American Legion will be hosting a Veterans Day Parade Wednesday, Nov. 11 at 10 a.m. down Main Street in Chandler.

The Chandler Methodist Men will be showing appreciation to all area Veterans on Wednesday, Nov. 11.

All Chandler area Veterans are invited to Boom-A-Rang Diner at 912 Manvel Avenue in Chandler on that day to have a “Big Breakfast”, which can be received any time of day.

This is available to Veterans who dine in, get carryout or have curbside to their car courtesy of this fellowship. Veteran must let waitstaff know that they are at the Diner for this meal.

For any questions or concerns, please contact Richard Covington at Hite Drug at 405-258-1218.

Due to COVID restrictions, in lieu of the annual Veterans Day Assembly presented by Chandler High School Student Council, CHS will be honoring veterans at Friday night’s football game on November 6.

Military personnel are invited to attend the game free of charge by showing their military ID at the gate.

The halftime show will be dedicated to honoring those who have served or are currently serving in our military armed forces. The celebration will feature the CHS Music Makers and Marching Band.

Stroud Public schools will be having their Veterans Day assembly virtually through the Stroud Public Schools Livestream Wednesday, Nov. 11.

They still want to honor Veterans and are asking for photos to include during the assembly.

If you would like to participate email Elizabeth Lau at elau@stroud.k12.ok.us or drop by the High School office a photograph with your name, rank and branch of the service you served.

The deadline is Monday, Nov. 9.

The Stroud Public Schools family is in the process of preparing a tribute for Veterans on this day.

Contact Mr. Scott Baade or Mrs. Elizabeth Lau at 918-968-2542 for information regarding the program or sending pictures.
