Lincoln County Commissioners this week approved an estimate of monthly spending for the new Purchase card system and established the number of cards to be used.
They voted 3-0 to allow three cards and a spending limit of $5,000 each month per card.
The only personnel to have the new P-cards will be County Clerk Alicia Wagnon and two of her employees.
“The cards can’t be loaned to anyone,” Wagnon emphasized.
During a lengthy discussion, Wagnon noted Purchase Orders are still the preferred way of handling expenditures and commissioners agreed. “These are for extreme circumstances,” Wagnon explained.
“These are for vendors who won’t accept a Purchase Order. The P-cards are to be used if a purchase can’t be made any other way,” she added.
