Authorities are seeking a Davenport man after a $15,000 bench warrant was issued for his arrest in late April on two felony charges and two misdemeanor counts.
Formal charges were filed in Lincoln County District Court on April 28 against Corey Leon Barber, 43.
The two felonies Barber faces are possession of a firearm after former conviction of a felony and maintaining a place for keeping/selling controlled dangerous substance.
The misdemeanors are knowingly receiving or concealing stolen property and possession of controlled dangerous substance.
Count 1 against Barber accuses him of possessing a 9mm pistol on March 17 this year in Lincoln County after having been convicted of manufacturing of a Controlled Dangerous Substance in a Payne County case.
The other felony charges him with maintaining a dwelling house, located at 421 Lake Ave., in Davenport, resorted to by some users of CDS on the same date.
In Count 3, Barber is charged with concealing a 9mm pistol that had been stolen and valued at $450 on the same date.
He is accused of possessing marijuana on the same date in Lincoln County.
In an application for warrant of arrest by Davenport Police Chief Johnny Jenkins, he states that he, Officer Brandon Jackson and the District Attorney’s Deputy Commander of Investigations William Wheeler served a search warrant on March 17 this year at 421 Lake Ave. Davenport.
Barber lives at that address, Jenkins stated, and has been for two years but was not home when he and the other officers served the search warrant on that property.
The property that was seized under the warrant that day included a digital scale and about 200 new little Ziploc baggies; a camouflage backpack loaded with a stolen 9mm Hi-point semi-automatic pistol with 10 live rounds in it; four glass pipes with residue in them that field tested for methamphetamine.
And a medicine bottle bearing a woman’s name on the label. The bottle was full of marijuana, the chief stated.
A letter addressed to that same woman in Sparks from a finance company in Stroud was also discovered.
