Updates from Meeker Town Hall

1. Update on Glenn Crest Park

A. After just a short period of time for the park to be open, we have experienced several things that have been broken or just tore up.

Pictures were taken during these altercations and some parents have been advised of their children’s actions and will be held responsible.

B. Thank you to those that live around the park and are lending extra eyes on the park’s security.

C. Let us all continue to enjoy the park and hopefully all will play together and watch out for one another.

2. Update on Homestead Park

A. OG&E Engineers designing a lighting system for the park and its security.

B. Mowing has started.

C. 2 big dead trees will be cut down soon.

D. Donations for benches, tables and playground equipment are being accepted at City Hall. Call for details at 279-3320. Ask for Town Administrator.

3. Update on Grants A. The grant from COEDD for our $150K water line replacement is still in the engineering process.

COEDD did call and tell us that the engineering fee was over the limit and that COEDD had lowered their fee to be compliant. It is nice to have these agencies watching over your back keeping everything in line.

B. Waiting on decisions about our winter storm damage grant.

4. Update on Annual Fireman’s B.B.Q.

A. Chief Ballard told me they sold out of 180 slab ribs the first day. They went to buy more to cook.

Sounds like things may be back to normal at the Fire Station.

B. The smoke sure did smell good Thursday and Friday.

C. Hope all went well Saturday with the City Wide Garage Sale.

5. Update on City wide Cleanup

A. City Wide Cleanup will be a 2-day event scheduled for May 29th and 30th. The roll off dumpster will be at the H.S. gym parking lot just like last year.

Please bring a Meeker Utility bill and I.D. to dump.
