The number of new cases in the area attributed to COVID-19 has jumped some in Pottawatomie and Lincoln Counties, Oklahoma State Department of Health figures show.
There have been two new deaths in Pottawatomie County but none in Lincoln County since the last report.
The OSDH has quit reporting gender and age group of those who have passed away due to COVID-19.
The OSDH recently began reporting the breakdown of deaths and new cases on a weekly basis rather than daily. The agency has stated the reason is because of the decline in COVID-19 cases.
The agency is releasing that information on Wednesdays so the most recent numbers provided here are from May 12 since this week’s edition went to press Tuesday night, May 18.
There have been 127 deaths in Pottawatomie County attributed to COVID-19.
Lincoln County has 71 reported deaths.
The number of positive cases has risen just a bit in both Pottawatomie and Lincoln counties, OSDH figures show.
The number of new positive tests in Pottawatomie County jumped by 26 and in Lincoln County they increased by 6, according to figures provided by the OSDH.
