Harold Dwane Gouker, 86, a longtime resident of Meeker, Okla., passed away peacefully on October 2, 2020 in Oklahoma City, Okla. Harold was born August 11, 1934 in Meeker to Earnest and Cora (Roller) Gouker. Harold graduated from Meeker High School in 1952. After high school, he served our country in the United States Army for two years.

On June 25, 1954, Harold married Kathryn Welborn in Meeker, and they were married for 66 years.

Harold owned and operated Gouker Dozer Service in Meeker for 50 years, and he also owned and operated Central Drilling Company. Harold was a successful racehorse owner and a member of the Quarter Horse Association. In 1995, his quarter horse “Turbine Jet” won the Heritage Place Futurity race at Remington Park.

Harold was a family man and was nicknamed “Pickle” by the youngest members of his family, his great grandchildren. When Harold wasn’t at a racetrack or on a dozer, you were most likely to find him cheering on his grandkids or great grandkids at a ball field, basketball court, or dance recital.

Harold was preceded in death by his parents, Earnest and Cora Gouker; and six brothers and sisters, Leland “Shorty” Gouker, Milburn “Mib” Gouker, Elvin “Brandy” Gouker, Alene (Gouker) Youngblood, Cletis “Clete” Gouker, and Corine Gouker.

Those left to cherish Harold’s memory are his wife Kathryn Gouker; a daughter, Brenda Gunderson and her husband Jeff; granddaughters, Courtney Smithson and her husband Cody, and Chelsey Jones and her husband Tyler; a great-granddaughter, Kate Smithson; and two great-grandsons, Killian Smithson and Barrett Jones.

Funeral services were held for Harold on Friday, October 9, 2020 at Meeker First Baptist Church, where Harold was a long-time member. Burial followed at New Hope Cemetery in Meeker. Services were under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Meeker.
