James Howard Ellison, age 84, passed away with family by his side at his home in Mustang, Okla., on October 10, 2020. He was born February 6, 1936 in Tecumseh, Okla., to Troy Lee and Beulah Lola (Youngblood) Ellison.

After attending Meeker High School, he began a career in utility construction that spanned 70 years. He began as an equipment operator and became a true professional in his trade with the ability to operate most any machine placed before him. He retired in 2013 from W N Couch Contractors. Howard was a lover of horses and cattle. In his younger age he broke and trained horses on the weekends on the Gordon Ranch near Prague, Okla.

Howard married Patricia Annette Evans on March 22, 1954. They were married for 66 years. Howard’s hobbies included gardening, cattle, horses and spending time with his family, church family and his grandkids. He will be deeply missed.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Wilma Standlee and JoAnn Edmonds.

He is survived by his wife Patricia; four daughters, Cheryl Arebalo, Jeanie Brinkoetter and husband Dennis, Lisa Dockery and Eddie and Tammy Gossman and two sons; Tony and wife Karen and Marty and wife Lisa. Also survived by two sisters; Elvesta Standlee and Helen McKee and husband George and one brother; George Ellison. He leaves behind a host of nieces and nephews as well as (23) grandchildren, (25) great-grandchildren and (9) great-great-grandchildren.

Dad we love you and will miss you so much. We know you are truly at rest with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. A funeral Service was held Wednesday, October 14, 2020 at West Metro Church of Christ, Yukon, Okla., with interment following at Pleasant Valley Cemetery, Wheatland, Okla.
